So what is a Pastor at Large?

This is a person who is an ordained pastor who is currently unaffiliated with a specific congregation. Usually the person is retired or between churches. In my case I'm not with a specific congregation at this time. I am doing a lot of Pulpit Supply; filling in for pastors who need to be away from their churches for a specific amount of time, say a vacation or holiday.

Just because I don't have a physical building or a regular group listening to my "sermons" does not take away from the Calling that I have felt and accepted. Since the world is ever changing, the way we do "church" is changing also. With these changes have arisen a group that is being called the "Nones and Dones."  These are the people that are mentioned at the bottom of the Home Page of this site. I'd like to think that they are still religious, but in a different way than the way we thought of when we were growing up. It's also sad to say that there are some churches that have hurt people instead of helping them and showing them love.

I have also found a group of people who are religious but not "Churchy" individuals. I recognize this, but still believe there are advantages of meeting with, and being with people of a like mind.

I'd like "to be there" for these people. I'm not sure how that will work or how it will look, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I am always looking at adding things and re-evaluating how this site should be.
